Vision
Our vision is to cultivate an inclusive, open and welcoming learning environment where Respect, Kindness, and Friendship form the foundation of strong relationships. We are committed to valuing and nurturing every child’s curiosity, celebrating diversity, and recognising their unique talents. Through instilling Trust, Responsibility, and Resilience, we empower children to develop a love of learning, foster self-belief, and confidently embrace challenges preparing them to make positive contributions to their communities and society.

How Wyke Primary School Promotes ‘British Values’
The Government set out its definition of ‘British Values’ in the 2015 Prevent Strategy. These values are: democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect, and tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs.

At Wyke Primary School, our resources are designed to provide opportunities for children to learn from our world and develop respect for others’ beliefs, feelings, and faiths. We encourage exploration, discussion, and challenge to inspire children to deepen their understanding of British Values and Protected Characteristics, fostering an inclusive environment that promotes respect, curiosity, and a love for learning.
As part of this, we use Picture News in our assemblies to help children engage with current events and real-world issues. These sessions spark thoughtful conversations around British Values, equality, and diversity, while encouraging children to form their own opinions and understand different perspectives.
